Catching up with absent friends
Given last year was pretty dismal at the garden trap, there were many moths I would have expected that simply didn't show, thankfully some of these have already put in an appearance this year, including these two, Streamer and Powdered Quaker.

Dave, what lighting do you use to get the soft shading in the photos? Do you photograph in a polytunnel or just in daylight out of the sun?

Sam,
DeleteMost of the time it is just natural lighting, of course avoiding direct sunlight that is no good at all if you want to capture a true representation of the colouring of the moths.
I often use a large mirror too to try and get nice equal lighting from all sides.
Dave
A mirror - that's one I hadn't thought of. Thanks Dave!
